This was an old pool. I first drained the pool and ground it down to smooth cement three times. Then, I installed two coats of plaster. Once that was done, I had to source tiles. It was difficult, but I managed to find the exact match for the existing tiles. Since the tiles were so old, I decided to remove all the old ones and replace them with the new match. This took a bit of time. After that, I got to work on the patio that my wife, Kim, designed. I also had to source the brick from a reclaimed brick yard. This was time-consuming because I had to drive to several different yards to find the exact match. Once I had the correct brick, I excavated the old dirt. Then, I installed 6 inches of clean stone followed by 3 inches of screening. Although this was time-consuming, we got it done, as you can see in all the photos. There was a lot of work involved in designing and laying out all the bricks, and getting the levels right was very important for proper water runoff.
