Townhouse Bar and Restaurant Renovation

The Towne House Bar and Restaurants exemplify the true essence of impeccable craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. I had the privilege of being brought in on this project by Christy Ryan, a renowned figure from Glenveagh Construction, who served as my mentor throughout the undertaking. Working closely with Christy, this provided invaluable guidance and expertise that shaped the outcome of this remarkable establishment.

Christy Ryan, with his exceptional organizational skills, flawlessly coordinated every aspect of this monumental project. He demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ensuring my needs were met promptly and efficiently, going above and beyond to provide the necessary resources for success. His meticulous approach to laying out the entire project, methodically and comprehensively, greatly facilitated the workflow. I am immensely thankful to Christy for granting me this opportunity and for his unwavering support. Thank you, Christy.

When I joined the project, I assumed the role of the main carpenter responsible for the completion of both the Towne House and Towne Hall. It is important to acknowledge the remarkable work undertaken by the late carpenter Sean Hughes, who had already completed two bars with exceptional craftsmanship. Rest in peace  Sean. Additionally, prior to my arrival, talented carpenters such as Adrian Mark, Remy, and others had contributed their skills, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful carpentry work.

Undertaking the construction of the Towne House and Towne Hall proved to be an exhilarating challenge that allowed me to showcase my repertoire of carpentry skills. It was a wonderful experience to work with traditional tools such as hand saws, block planes, jack planes, and chisels, bringing a sense of nostalgia and fulfillment to the craft.

My responsibilities encompassed a diverse range of tasks, including the installation of truss beams and the construction of soffits, ingeniously crafted from reclaimed pumpkin wood, adding a unique touch to the space. Additionally, I had the pleasure of meticulously hanging and cutting 900 pieces of glass mirror, a testament to the meticulousness and precision required for this project. The installation of oak bar rails and the creation of custom shelves, expertly carved with ploughs to accommodate lighting fixtures, also showcased the seamless integration of craftsmanship and functionality.

Collaborating closely with Davey Doyle from Doyle Electric LLC, Christy, Davey, and I worked collaboratively to achieve flawless lighting arrangements that perfectly complemented the woodworking elements. This remarkable display of teamwork emphasized the unity and synergy among all parties involved.

In conclusion, the Towne House Bar and Restaurants stand as a testament to the exceptional level of craftsmanship and collective effort invested in this project. It pushed the boundaries of my carpentry skills, allowing for personal and professional growth. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this extraordinary establishment and witness the power of teamwork in bringing a vision to life.
